Do It Yourself Natural Beauty Tips

Do It Yourself Natural Beauty Tips

When I was a young girl, my grandmother always kept an Aloe Vera plant inside her home. According to grandmother, the aloe plant was the solution to many skin conditions i.e., healing a minor burn or helping with the treatment of eczema symptoms. Grandmother was right because once I would apply the Aloe, I would feel immediate relief from my symptoms. Grandmother was a great source of natural remedies to help a variety of skin issues. As I grew older and explored more “home remedies” my grandmother had shared with me I began to examine how people included some of the natural remedies into a more naturalistic approach to maintain a beauty routine, just like that one. In this article, you will discover 6 strange but very useful natural beauty tips.

Tip #1. Apply Mayonnaise, Eggs, and Olive oil for healthy hair

It may not be the most pleasant thing in the world, but it works. Make a mask with two tablespoons of mayonnaise, two egg whites, and a spoonful of oil, and apply it from the root to the tips. Let it sit for 20 minutes and rinse it. You will get super hydrated and nourished hair!

Is your hair feeling a little dry? When was the last time you had a deep conditioner or mask applied to your hair? Ummm, exactly! It’s been that long time since you gave your hair a little extra nourishment. A simple natural deep conditioning mask consists of mayonnaise, eggs, and oil. To make the mask, combine two tablespoons of mayonnaise, two egg whites, and a spoonful of oil, and apply it from the root to the tips. To maximize the process, you will want to make sure to evenly distribute the product throughout the strands of hair. The mixture should remain on your hair for approximately 20 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.

Tip #2. Use Pickles and Potatoes to reduce swelling of the skin

It’s not uncommon to have areas of skin swell prematurely. To help reduce the swelling, cucumbers and potatoes contain natural anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Simply cut either the cucumber or potato into thin slices. Next apply the slices to the affected skin area, such as swollen eyelids related to lack of sleep or potential allergic reaction to possible environmental issues (DISCLAIMER: THE APPLICATION OF CUCUMBERS OR POTATOES IS ONLY TO HELP REDUCE THE SWELLING NOT A CURE FOR THE CAUSE OF THE ALLERGIC OUTBREAK).

Tip #3. Apply spoons to dark circles

For various reasons sometimes you may wake up with slight swelling around your eyes. To help with reducing the swelling apply something cold to the area. The coldness from the object may cause the inflammation and tension in the area to subside. For the eye area, a little-known remedy has been to apply cold tablespoons. Put two spoons in the refrigerator for approximately 15 minutes, then remove them and place them on any swollen area. The spoons are to be applied to the skin for 10 to 15 seconds with brief breaks, depending on how you can tolerate the cold sensation.

Tip #4. Honey to moisturize your Face.

Honey is a natural humectant which means it helps the skin absorb and retain moisture. Honey also contains natural antioxidants and anti-microbial properties to help protect, repair, and prevent more skin damage. So, Honey is ideal for use as a part of a facial care regimen. To make a mask, you will need honey and lemon juice. Combine 2 tablespoons of honey with the juice from the lemon and mix thoroughly. Apply the mask to the face but avoid the eye area. Allow the mask to remain on the face for approximately 20 minutes and then wash off with warm water, followed by cold water. The cold water application is optional but it will help to close your facial pores. Afterward, using a clean cloth simply pat your skin dry.

CAUTION: If you have sensitive skin, you may want to test out the mixture in a small area on your body before applying it to your entire face.
